Step by Step Guide to Wash a Wig

Brushing:
Remove the wig and place it on a wig stand. Brush the wig gently with a wig brush, getting rid of all tangles. Don’t apply normal hair brush only use the wig brush.

Shampooing and Conditioner:
Fill a sink with cold water. Add a capful (about 1 tbsp.) of wig shampoo. While washing your wig hair, never use a shampoo meant for natural hair. ''Even though normal conditioner may be okay, the shampoo is too harsh and can lead to hair falling.

Cleaning:
Place the wig in soapy water and swish it around with your fingers for a minute or two. Be gentle while performing this action. Use a soft toothbrush to remove any makeup stains. Use a paste of baking soda and shampoo on stubborn makeup stains.

Soaking:
After a satisfactory cleaning let the wig soak in the sink for about five minutes.

Rinsing:
Drain the soapy water out and refill the sink with clean cold water. Rinse the wig until all the shampoo is removed. You may have to change the water a few times.

Uses of Towel:

Gently blot the excess water with a dry towel. Do not wring the wig out or shake it in a towel. Be careful and dry it piece-by-piece. This makes sure that strands of fibers do not fall off.

      Air Drying:
The best-recommended method to dry the wig is air-dry. You can use the wig stand for this purpose or simply turn it inside out and lay flat on surface gently for dry.

    Styling:
Spray on a wig conditioner and style your wig after it has dried. You can condition your hair every couple weeks or so, to keep it shiny and soft. Make sure you don't do that every day and be sure to rinse it all out or it could lead to the build-up in your wig.
